MEETING YOUR INSURANCE NEEDS SINCE 1945
The agency, originally named Hart and Wyatt Insurance and Real Estate, was established in 1945 by Jack B Hart Sr. in Brawley, CA. The office was located on 8th Street inside the Dunlack Hotel, commonly known as the business hub of the city.

MAKING BIG MOVES
The agency quickly began to grow, and the office relocated three more times: to North Plaza, then the 100th block of Main Street, and finally to the Planters Hotel in 1963.
THE LEGACY CONTINUES
Jack Hart Jr. joined the agency in 1968 after graduating from college and became 2nd generation owner of the business. Under his direction, the agency was renamed Hart Insurance, Inc. and focused primarily on insurance.
FUELED BY FEMALES THEN AND NOW
As the agency began to grow its roots within the community, the staff worked diligently to maintain its gradual and steady growth. Together, the women of the Hart Agency were a force to be reckoned with.
A CAREER CINDERELLA STORY
In 1983, Liz M Gonzales began working for the agency through her ROP Office Occupations class during her third year of high school. After graduating from high school in 1984, she accepted a full-time job offer with the agency. Little did she know it would be the first and only place she would ever work until retirement.
SHE HAD WHAT IT TOOK
Jack Hart Jr. had been conditioning Liz for what he had in mind for her early on. In 1985 he sent her to Hartford, Connecticut—the Insurance Capital of the World—so that she could prepare for the state exam and become licensed to sell insurance when she was approximately 20 years old.
TAKING THE NEXT STEP
In 1988, Liz was promoted to manager of Jack Hart Jr’s personal lines insurance department. When Jack Hart Jr. decided to retire in 2006, he gave Liz the opportunity to acquire the agency.
SPEARHEADING THE INDUSTRY
Since then, the agency’s name has officially been changed to Hart Insurance Center. Liz and her all-female staff have been able to transform the business into one of the top-performing insurance agencies in Southern California. The agency prides itself on its excellent customer service, expertise, various offerings, and successful client retention rate. Liz owes the success of her agency to God, and to the fact that she has had to earn her way to the black chair in the back. She knows every job that each of her staff members does because she’s done it.
